Kuari Pass Trek Price: Rs. 9500

Kuari Pass Trek is located in the Nanda Devi National Park in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand state. It is an ancient trade route trek with beautiful forest trails. This trek was an expedition by Lord Curzon and after that also known as the Curzon trail. Kauri Pass Trek is a 31 km long trek from Joshimath in the Garhwal Himalayas at 12,516 feet. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the enchanting beauty of the Himalayas like the clouds touching peaks featuring majestic mountain views, lush Bugyals, dense forests, varied landscapes, rich flora and fauna, bird watching, and a magical winter experience.




Kuari Pass Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Rishikesh to Joshimath. Distance: 257 km
Altitude: 6152 feet
Duration: 9-10 hours

Meeting / Pick up Point Rishikesh early morning and then drive to Joshimath. The drive takes approximately 9-10 hours, covering a distance of around 250 kilometers.

Arrive in Joshimath, Chamoli District (Chamoli is known as the place of gods, where the numerous sites of religious shrines and temples here), check into a guesthouse or hotel, have dinner, and spend the night. All Gaiters can be purchased from the local market in Joshimath for a reasonable cost whatever as per the need of your trek.

Day 2: Joshimath to Dhak by Drive and Trek to Gulling Top. Altitude: 9,600 feet

Distance: 18 km (12 km by taxi, 6 km on foot)

Duration: 7-8 hours

After breakfast, drive to the initial point of the trek at Dhak village by drive around the 12-kilometer short journey. At an altitude of around 2,450 meters, we begin our trekking from Dhak village to Gulling Top (covering 9 kilometers in 4-5 hours) crossing Tugasi village and continuing walking to reach Tali.

Drongri, Hathi Parvat, and Gori Parvat - Mighty rocky mountain ranges are visible from your campsite. Settle the Campsite at Gulling, enjoy dinner, and spend the night stargazing.

Day 3: Gulling Top to Tali.

Altitude: 11,072 feet

Distance: 5 km

Duration: 5-6 hours

The journey of 5 hours will feel like nothing when you will be trekking towards the dense forest to reach Greenwood along the following the sky-touching mountains visible over the trees.

Greenery here refreshes your inner-self and all the distracted thoughts you were having at the start of the trek would get away. The following area is lined with oak and rhododendron trees, and in March, you can enjoy the delightful white and pink blossoms.

The deeper you go into the forest, you'll encounter the shadowy evergreen forest of Gulling. Along the way, your eyes will take in the stunning Hathi Gori peak, accompanied by the majestic Donagiri peak.

Day 4: Tali to Kuari Pass Trek and Back to Tali.

Altitude: 13,989 feet (Kuari Pass Summit)

Distance: 13 km

Duration: 8-9 hours

Wake up early, and enjoy breakfast before you hit the trek. A challenging day of the trek where no waterways in the route, so suggest that trekkers keep sufficient water with them. We will be trekking towards Kuari Pass while witness the sunrise over the Himalayan peaks.

The trek of the day consists distance of 8-9 kilometers through wide Bugyals and broken bridges in the path of the Khulara or Kuari Pass summit. The weather varies as per the seasons showing different experiences each time in the yields of snow or green.

The initial check would be at Khulara top with the trek of a moderate climb of 3.5 kilometers. Khulara via Tali via Kuari Pass crossing broken bridges, Reaching Kuari Pass at last would feel like you were at the mountains museum.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery, as retracing your steps back towards Khullara.

Day 5: Tali via Gurson Bugyal to Joshimath via Auli.

Altitude: 10,010 feet (Auli)

Distance: Tali to Auli: 8 km trek, Tali to Joshimath: 23 km

Duration: Tali to Auli: 4-5 hours, Tali to Joshimath: 12 hours (stay at Khullara camp)

After descending from the pass, trekkers usually stay at Tali campsite to enjoy Tali lake shores. Continue Trek from Tali to Auli and ends later Joshimath. Stunning snow-covered valleys that cross through Gurson Bugyals mainly in winters.

Auli is one of the famous skiing capitals in South Asia. Later through the cable-ride car or after stay at Auli for the next day to Joshimath back to the base camp.

As you descend to Joshimath, you will feel accomplished completing the Kuari Pass Trek, at ease experience through the mountains terrain, alpine Bugyals, and forests will double your adventure.

Day 6: Departure from Joshimath.

Distance: 257 km

Altitude: 6152 feet

Duration: 9-10 hours

Stay a night in Joshimath Guesthouse/Hotels, and have a sweet dinner. Next early morning last breakfast in Higher Himalayas, 6-8 am morning ride back to Rishikesh.

While retrieving you can visit Devprayag sangam of the holy rivers Alaknanda & Bhagirathi, Rudraprayag another sangam of the rivers Alaknanda & Mandakini, Karnaprayag yet another junction of Alaknanda & Pindar rivers, Vishnuprayag at last the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda and Dhaulinga.
